Bloxorz unblocked: play Bloxorz online free right here in your browser — no download, no sign-up, works on a school Chromebook.
Snow Runner is about speed. Bloxorz goes the other way: it has no timer, no enemies and no reflex tests, just a rectangular block and a floating path of tiles. Damien Clarke of DX Interactive released it in 2007, and it is still one of the cleanest logic puzzles on the web.
The basic move
The block is twice as tall as it is wide. Each press of an arrow key tips it over one edge, so it alternates between standing on one square and lying across two. That simple rule is the whole puzzle: the same four moves put the block in different positions depending on whether it was upright or flat, and the shape of each stage forces you to plan the order. The goal is to drop the block upright into the square hole. Roll off the edge and the stage starts again.
Tiles and switches you will meet
- Orange tiles are fragile. They hold the block lying down but give way if it stands on them upright.
- Round switches trigger when any part of the block touches them, standing or lying, and usually open or close a bridge.
- X switches are heavy and only trigger when the block stands upright on them.
- Split switches break the block into two single cubes in different places. Space switches control between them, and they become one block again when you roll them next to each other.
Thirty-three stages and passcodes
There are 33 stages. Each one shows a six-digit passcode, so you can enter it later from the menu and resume where you stopped. The counter also tracks total moves, which gives you something to improve once you know the solution.
Thinking backward
The most useful habit in Bloxorz is to start from the hole. Ask how the block must arrive (it has to stand upright on the last move) and which tile it must be lying across one move earlier. From there, trace back to the start. When a stage has bridges, work out which switch opens which bridge before you commit, because some bridges close again when the same switch is pressed a second time.
Playing it here
This Bloxorz build is the original Flash game running through the Ruffle emulator, so it opens in a modern browser without a plugin. It needs only the arrow keys and Space. Progress is kept by passcode, not by account.
Questions about Bloxorz
Is Bloxorz unblocked at school?
Bloxorz runs in an ordinary browser tab from snowrunner.org, with nothing to download or install, so it plays on most school Chromebooks and work computers. If a network filter blocks the site, only that network's administrator can change it.
How do I win a stage in Bloxorz?
Roll the block with the arrow keys until it stands upright directly over the square hole. Lying flat over the hole does not count, and rolling off any edge sends you back to the start of the stage.
What are the passcodes for?
Each stage shows a six-digit code. Typing it on the menu takes you straight back to that stage, so you can continue later without replaying the early ones.
Is Bloxorz hard?
The first stages teach one idea each, but later ones combine fragile tiles, bridges and split blocks and can take many attempts. There is no timer, so you can think as long as you like.
